Rishikesh Workshop & Yātrā 2022 Itinerary

20 th Sept. Day 00: Arrive New Delhi.
Please let me know if you require accommodation in Delhi on the night of the 20th . There will be an extra charge for this as our trip officially begins on the 21st .
21 s t Sept. Day 01: Travel New Delhi to Rishikesh.
Our trip officially begins and ideally we can get an early start. Transport to Rishikesh will be done via 03 SUV vehicles (Toyota Innova Crysta). I am hoping that we can have a quick stop at my favourite shop in Haridwar if we have time. If you prefer to travel direct to Rishikesh and meet us there then let me know if you want to be picked up from the airport or train station.
22 nd to 25 th Sept. Day 02 – 05: Ashtanga Yoga Workshop @ Rainforest House.
Meals: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner.
Our days at Rainforest House (https://www.rainforest-house.com/) will vary but will start with Yoga practice and then breakfast. I have plenty of ideas of ways to fill the rest of the time, but we do want to make this a relaxing and rejuvenating experience to prepare for the challenges of Yātrā.
26 th Sept. Day 06: Rishikesh to Barkot (215 Kms / 9 Hours).
Meals: Breakfast/ Dinner
We are greeted and assisted by Travel Vaidya representative and proceed on Chardham Yātrā via Mussoorie. En-route visit Kempty Fall and enjoy the beauty of Himalayas (route may change as per road condition & traffic). Arrive Barkot for night stay.
27 th Sept. Day 07: Barkot – Jankichatti – Yamunotri – Barkot (6 kms Trek).
Meals: Breakfast/ Dinner
Leave early morning for Janki Chatti from where a trek leads you to your first destination of Chardham yatra. A 6 kms trek via Hanuman Chatti and Phool Chatti invigorates an enthralling trip. On reaching the holy shrine, take a dip in Garam Kund and perform Puja at holy Temple dedicated to Yamunotri Ji. Hanuman Chatti, Surya Kund, Yamunotri Temple and Divya Shila are the main attractions here. Drive back to Barkot from Janki Chatti the very same day.
28 th Sept. Day 08: Barkot to Uttarkashi ( 85kms/4Hrs ).
Meals: Breakfast/ Dinner
To reach your next destination of Char Dham Yātrā head to Uttarkashi. On your way, do not miss out on attractions like Prakateshwar Caves (formed by limestone and dedicated to Lord Shiva). Make most of your time at Uttarkashi by visiting the temple of Lord Vishwanath. Overnight stay.
29 th Sept. Day 09: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi ( 100 Ks/ 4 Hrs Each Way)
Meals: Breakfast/ Dinner
Early morning (packed breakfast) drive to Gangotri, enroute at Gangnani take a holy dip in Garam Kund, further drive to Gangotri via beautiful Harsil Valley. Harsil is famous forits nature beauty and for the majestic views of the Deodar trees and mountains. On arrival at Shree Gangotri, take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Perform Pooja and Darshan, after that relax for some time in the lovely surroundings. Later drive back to Uttarkashi. Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.
30 th Sept. Day 10: Uttarkashi – Guptkashi ( 220 Kms/ 9 Hrs).
Meals: Breakfast/ Dinner
Morning after breakfast, drive to Guptkashi via Moolgarh & Lambgoan. Enroute you can see the beautiful river Mandakini at Tilwara. The Mandakini river comes from Kedarnath, drive alongside the river to reach Guptakashi, visit Ardh Narishwar Temple in Guptakashi. Check into the hotel arrival in Guptakashi. Overnight stay at Guptakashi.
01 s t Oct. Day 11: Guptkashi – Kedarnath ( 30 Ks by Road & 14 Ks Trek).
Meals: Breakfast/ Dinner
By Helicopter: Morning our driver will transfer you your prebook Helipad. When you return back our car will drop you at Hotel for rest. (Note: helicopter ticket is not included in this package).
By Trek: It is difficult to go up from Sonprayag on the same day by trek, but it can be done. You can also take ponies or helicopter while going to Kedarnath. Do coordinate well with driver, as due to parking issue driver cannot stay at Sonprayag also network issue is also there.
Dinner and overnight stay at Kedarnath.
02 nd Oct. Day 12: Kedarnath – Guptkashi ( 30 Ks by Road & 14 Ks Trek).
Meals: Breakfast/ Dinner
After morning breakfast and kedarnath dham darshan, comes back to Guptkashi, dinner and overnight stay at Guptkashi.
Kedarnath Weather – Due to its high altitude the weather in Kedarnath remains cold for most part of the year. Summer here is cool and pleasant while winter is severe. During summer season the temperature varies around 20°Celsius. Light woolen wear is recommended. Winter season in Kedarnath is severe with mercury falling to as low as 0°Celsius. During this time the place experiences snowfall as well. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, this time is usually avoided by tourists.
03 rd Oct. Day 13: Guptkashi – Joshimath ( 40 Kms / 2 Hrs ).
Meals: Breakfast/ Dinner
After morning breakfast, check out from hotel at Joshimath and start your journey to badrinath dham via Joshimath. Check into hotel at Joshimath. Dinner and overnight stay at Joshimath.
04 th Oct. Day 14: Joshimath – Badrinath – Joshimath ( 40 Kms/ 2 Hrs ).
Meals: Breakfast/ Dinner
Morning after breakfast, drive to Badrinath. Pilgrims after having a bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal & Aarti in evening. Brahamakapal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus), After Badrinath dham darshan retun back to Joshimath, Dinner and Overnight stay at Joshimath.
Badrinath Weather: The average maximum temperature will be around 18° Celsius and the average minimum is 8° Celsius. Warm and woolen clothes are hence required for a stay in Badrinath
throughout the year. Winter in Badrinath is often accompanied by snow falls. Winter is very chilly with an average temperature of 5° Celsius. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, this time is usually closed for tourists.
05 th Oct. Day 15: Joshimath – Haridwar ( 278 Kms / 8 Hrs ).
Meals: Breakfast/ Dinner
After Morning breakfast, check out from hotel and start your journey to Haridwar enroute visiting Vishnuprayag, karanprayag, nandprayag, Rudraprayag, Devprayag. Check in to your hotel in Haridwar, later visit Har ki Pouri for the famous Ganga aarti. Dinner and overnight stay at Haridwar.
06 th Oct. Day 16: Haridwar – New Delhi ( 230 Kms / 4-5 Hrs ).
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to New Delhi airport. Drop at New Delhi
airport.
