If you wish to join our community to practice this traditional and beautiful yoga practice then we offer a 2 week introductory trial for free.

People with very little or no experience of  yoga are welcome at Te Aro Astanga Yoga

Labour Weekend Holiday

The yoga school will be closed this weekend for the Labour Weekend Holiday. There will be no Led class on Sunday morning 24th  and no classes on Monday 25th October. Classes resume as usual on Tuesday 26th October. Enjoy the break. Fingers crossed for good weather 🙂

Mysore Style Yoga Wellington

Led classes
Are talk-through classes with students following in unison in the Astanga yoga style

Open classes
Are taught Mysore style and are suitable for all levels.

We practice astanga yoga by combining breath control/focus (pranayama) with flowing movements (vinyasa).

Everyone who practices Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, no matter how strong or how flexible they are, eventually gets to an asana that they cannot immediately do. It may be in Marichyasana B or D of the Primary Series. Or the Bhujapidasana, Supta Kurmasana, Garbhapindasana...
